Joomla 1.5のインストールは、ご使用のレンタルサーバー環境により問題が発生する場合がありますが、大部分のサーバーではスムーズにインストールが出来ると思います。
まず、Joomla 1.5システムソフトをJoomla!じゃぱんサイト http://www.joomla.jp/ からダウンロードしてください。そして、Zipファイルを解凍してFTPソフトを使ってレンタルサーバー側にアップしてください。
アップロードが完了した時点でサイトドメインURL（例えば、http://xxxxx.com/installation）にinstalltionと言う言葉を追加してページを開いてください。インストールのための画面がすぐに出てくるはずです。もし、インストール画面が出てこない場合は、お使いのレンタルサーバーに何らかの問題があるかFTPした時の文字コード（通常UTF8を使う）がおかしいかのどちらかです。
